my first ‘SimpleLife2010′
Thursday, December 16th, 2010special thanks to…
Asa who kept eyes for my stall while I was temporary away. Easy, my cousin from Tainan with his best friend, the super star Chia, and their friend, sweetHadag.Judy and families, who gave me a lot of encouragement always. dear Wenny who provide me food and gave me warm more than hug. those customers who supposed me. and…. of couse, my angel, beloved Steven

I was so excited to attend my first ‘simple life’ (a huge biennial event here)
Based on the same meaning of the event, ’simple’…..
huh…so I prepared some ‘simple’ stuff to decorate my stall

my hard-to-be-organized-table still looked disordering though,
but it seemed nicer than my stall in another regular creative market
two unbelievable crazy busy days!!!
got no chance to take breaks, hanging around and take pics……
the only nice moment was, when music started from stage,
I had a lot of chance to hear those beautiful life performance! those sweet moment~~
until dinner time,
I finally had a chance to take pic of the whole view of my stall (two stalls share one booth)……..
then I realized why people misunderstood I was part of another stall who shared the same spot with me,
the reason was that my stall only shared quarter space……
ok, it’s a very important experience to me, no worry,
just keep moving forward, maybe I will attend it again two years later……
we’ll see
my event @ big sight tokyo

ok, it’s about time to turn it on! my stall @ Big Sight, O-daiba, Tokyo

it’s surprised me a lot while I saw my spot……. kinda empty!! I saw my booth# on the floor, and yet, the yellow tape marked what my area is, that’s my space for two days. I’ve rent tables and fold chairs upfront via internet, so they were there when I arrived

there were some event’s promotion.
this man play a role as pharaoh to promote their show, he’s funny! his kids and wife were there to help him as well. we tried to have conversations but I don’t understand japanese
—————————————————————————————————————————
two days event, 2700 booths, I thought that’s an international event, but the truth WAS NOT. 99.9% japanese, even I’ve tried my best to say hello with my friendly neighbor, their responses were in japanese……..some people didn’t know how to ask ‘how much’ in english. I stood at my spot fulling of loneliness….I push myself to learn a sentence in japanese: ‘I don’t speak japanese’………. they smiled and approached me, finally we had conversation, without using language. Now I realize there is no barrier even though we speak different language
the way the night view of tokyo tower looks like
Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

plenty of buildings…..
the tower actually in not too huge as my imagination….
I saw two of Ferris wheels in a distance,
just thought about which one is nearest one from my hotel in O’Dai-Ba?

ok, here goes my works~~~~

first image while I finally arrived there
Thursday, June 3rd, 2010for participating the exhibition of Tokyo Design Festa (the location has a nickname ‘Big Sight’ which is well-known by Japanese) I decided to go to Tokyo by myself.
Before getting in this country, a female immigrant officer asked me to open my large luggage and checked my stuff seriously. She wondered why I bought so many book covers this time.
‘Well… I’m an exhibitor of the event of “Big Sight” ‘ I answered.
‘Big Sight????’ she didn’t get it.
After her reflection, she suddenly got the point. ‘oh~! Bi-gu Sai-do!!!!’
In the same moment, I felt something…..
Another thing was, I missed my last Limousine bus to ‘O-Dai-Ba’…..so I had to take another bus to Tokyo station and transfer by train or taxi to my location
——————————————————————————————————————————
It was almost 10pm when I arrived to Tokyo station, the temperature was getting down, I wore just like summer dresses, was walking with my large and medium luggage, it was not a easy job…… and I was starving. I tried to go in the mall beside me tried to find some food, but I couldn’t find any elevator and I thought it was almost closed, so I gave up and kept walking toward to the train station.

The station was under construction, I couldn’t fine any elevator, police officer around there couldn’t really speak english, so I got in a cab.
the driver was a senior person with friendly look, he couldn’t speak english either, but he knew how to discuss with number in english, that was great!
I jumped into the cab, the driver tried to slow down his japanese and talk to me, but I couldn’t really understand him just as I tried to slow down my english.
so we kept silent, until he drove me to my hotel @ ‘O-Dai-Ba’, he finally spoke to me in poor english and excellent japanese. ‘You must ask your parents if you had half-japanese…… cause your skin and your look is just like japanese.’
——————————————————————————————————————————
Adam, my brother’s friend who’s working in Tokyo, brought my package which I sent it in advance before departure, he separated it into a large luggage and a small cart, came to my hotel from far far away ‘Singnagawa’ by taxi.
He really helped me a lot!!!!
after all schedule was done, I finally had my dinner, a microwave reheat food from 24h grocery store downstair my hotel room
——————————————————————————————————————————
inside my tiny hotel room, after all luggage was opened, I could barely walk through the doorway easily, definitely no enough space…… my laptop couldn’t connect internet so all I can do was switch on the tv-set and kept working by myself. strange language filled in my room, I could hardly understand a simple word.
I stood aside the window, looked at the outside scene, Had no idea where was there then, but I was excited to admit something…… the crazy thing was I brought myself alone to Tokyo.
Sure, I have to get out of the boring area tomorrow, to the new place with a lot of new hope
